Camera and BlackBerry..

So.. anyone care to let me know what's with camera and BlackBerry nowadays? Looks like almost every single person I know owns one, if not both of them.. The society is getting more and more narcissistic, I can deal with that, but exclusively buying a camera worth a grand (in USD) only for amateur photographing of oneself and other insignificant things? Complete idiocy I'd say..

Don't get me starting on the other one, BlackBerry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlackBerry).. This one is worse, period.. Although you guys might have known or used it for years, not until recently does it become famous at my home country.. And the telephone service providers are not helping, at all.. They started giving out promotions and contracts and stuffs so that it became easier for technology-failure people to access both the internet (via GPRS) and the epic BBM (BlackBerry Messenger)..

My opinion? Kinda OK with the camera, ABSOLUTELY NOT with the BlackBerry, just stick to any cell you're using right now or try iPhone for a change, it's much much better ;)

Percy Jackson & The Olympians?

So this might be old news for some of you out there, but I just found the reprint of the first installment of the series, a.k.a. The Lightning Thief (the movie is scheduled for release early next year).. It's an interesting fiction novel, well no wonder they are making it into a movie..

Into the novel, unlike some stories about heroes and magics based on pure fictions, the author combines the current world with the whole Greek mythology in there, so for those of you who ever read or heard about ancient Greek, I'm pretty sure you'll recognize some of them.. Worry not, he still uses English to write the novel, but you'll find some Greek words and phrases along the way ;)..

Now the story itself, the protagonist is a "mentally-ill" boy, named Perseus Jackson.. He was often sent to numerous "special" school for his behaviors, only to realize that he is not a normal boy to begin with, but he know nothing of sort, not until his Pre-algebra teacher Mrs. Dodds suddenly turn into one of The Furies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furies) and tried to kill him.. From there on, he goes on the adventure to find his real father, to revive his mother from the Underworld, and to retrieve Zeus' master bolt who was stolen by the Lightning Thief..
